The first open days this year will be on Easter Sunday from 1.30pm until 5.30pm and again on Easter Monday at the same time. There’ll be an Easter Egg hunt for our younger visitors on both days.

Welcome to 2023…

The windmill will be open to visitors as usual on the first Sunday afternoon of the month from Easter to October and Bank Holidays. In May we will also open on National Mills weekend.

2022….

Our first opening this year will be Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday.

Blue Windmill….

In honour of all those who are helping us through these strange times the Windmill has been illuminated in blue on Thursday evenings.  Follow our facebook page for more photos and videos.

Windmill Fete…

As ever the Windmill Fete will take place on bank holiday Monday… The weather looks set to be good!

Once again we have some added attractions on the Rec’.  A £4 handstamp available by the Windmill will allow unlimited access to many of them.

There will also be a tug of war!

Springtime….

Spring is almost upon us and so we are busy preparing to open up the Windmill for another season. As usual visitors will be welcomed on the first Sunday of the month until October, starting on Sunday April 7th 1.30 – 5.30pm and again in April on Easter Sunday and Monday afternoons.

The Stansted Millers AGM takes place in the Day Centre on March 27th from 7.30pm. Our speaker will be Roger Barrett from the History Society. All are welcome…. especially if you’d like to support the Windmill by becoming a member of the Stansted Millers or even helping out as a steward during our Spring and Summer openings!

The Spring Coffee Morning is on Wednesday April 10th in the Day Centre from 10 ’til noon. Entrance is £2,50 which includes refreshments… Hot Cross Buns, tea, coffee etc…. There will be a raffle, Bric a Brac and cake stall.

 

CHRISTMAS OPENING….

The Windmill will be open on Saturday 15th December for a Visit from Santa.

Refreshments including mulled wine and mince pies will be available too!

We will also be open for tours if you’d prefer a little peace and quiet on the upper floors.

A visit to Santa is £4 per child.

Visiting us too is Twisto who will entertain the kids with some magic and balloon modelling before they visit Father Christmas in his new grotto.

Open Day!….

This Sunday 7th October is the last of our scheduled openings this year.  As usual you can have a look around between 1.30 and 5.30pm.

Race Night!

Our next event is the ‘Race Night’ on Saturday 17th November at the Day centre.  It’s a fun evening with a chance to win a little extra cash for Christmas!  Tickets are £10 per person which includes a Fish n Chips or Chicken supper.  They’re available from Richard Thomas or Molly Clark.  Bring your own drinks and glasses.

Santa will also be visiting the Windmill again this year on Saturday 15th December…  more about that soon.
